About Colbert County 9-1-1
 

The Colbert County Emergency Management Communications District (Colbert County 9-1-1 for short) was created by popular vote of Colbert County and in accordance with Section 11-98-1, Code of Alabama, 1975 (Act No. 84 - 369), the Colbert County Commission created the agency on November 6, 1990. A seven seat Board of Directors, appointed by the County Commission, was established to govern the agency. Appointments are four year terms in staggered succession.

Current board members are:

  • Beth Pirtle - Secretary TERM: TERM: 04/1/2021-04/1/2025
  • Garey Austin TERM: TERM: 07/1/2020 - 07/1/2024
  • Shawn Malone TERM: TERM: 10/1/2023 - 10/1/2027
  • Tim McMullins TERM: TERM: 09/1/2021-09/1/2025
  • Edna McPherson TERM: TERM: 01/1/2023 - 01/1/2027

Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday each month, at 4 p.m. Meetings are convened at the Colbert County 9-1-1 Center in the Colbert County Courthouse Annex basement, 116 W 5th St, Tuscumbia. If you wish to be on the agenda contact the Center at (256) 381-0911. To appear before the board, a simple set of procedures have been established to help you with your presentation and allow meetings to be conducted in a timely manner.
