Our History

Colbert County 911 was established on November 6, 1990, following a popular vote and in accordance with Alabama state law. The Enhanced 911 Center is responsible for receiving emergency calls and dispatching appropriate personnel to assist in mitigating emergencies. Dispatchers provide life-saving pre-arrival instructions and track the status of fire, medical, and law enforcement agencies in the county using a Next Generation Computer Aided Dispatch system.
